AMANEK to replace Aleksib at the start of ESL Pro League

G2 will start the event with a stand-in.

ESL Pro League Season 15 starts tomorrow, and one of the teams has already shared the bad news with their fans.

G2 reported that Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen was tested positive for COVID-19 and wouldn't take part in the first matches of ESL Pro League Season 15. He will be replaced by François "AMANEK" Delaunay, who still has an active contract with G2.

FaZe have already faced the same situation with Robin "ropz" Kool, who wasn’t able to attend the early stages of IEM Katowice 2022 due to a positive COVID-19 test and was replaced by Justin "jks" Savage. However, ropz recovered quickly and joined the team at the end of the group stage.

AMANEK has been a stand-in in G2 before. He was replacing head coach Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam in the playoff of IEM Katowice. The player was standing behind the backs of the active roster and taking timeouts.

G2’s first match is scheduled for tomorrow. They will face LookingForOrg.
