Astralis overcome BIG to enter IEM Katowice 2022 group stage

One more match in the upper bracket of IEM Katowice 2022 Play-In has come to a close, and the third team has entered the group stage.

Astralis faced BIG. They had already met at Blast Premier Spring Groups, and BIG won that standoff.

Astralis picked Ancient and showed a much more confident performance than they did at Blast. The Danish team gained an early advantage and finished the game in the second half, easily winning their pick with a score of 16-9.

BIG picked Dust 2, and Astralis weren’t ready for this map. BIG dominated the first half finishing it 11-4 and destroying the Danish team after the sides switched, winning the map 16-5.

The map leftover was Overpass, and it was the closest game of the standoff. Astralis were quite successful on the T side, winning ten rounds out of 15. However, BIG made an incredible comeback but didn’t manage to execute it properly, losing the last map of the clash with a score of 16-13.

Astralis enter the group stage of IEM Katowice 2022, while BIG are preparing to face fnatic in the lower bracket.
