Chiefs, Dire Wolves, Paradox exit Australian CS:GO

An expected outcome.

Tough day for the esports on the island.

Despite the ex-100 Thieves roster success, it is still tough for Australia to truly be a part of the global esports ecosystem in CS:GO, especially during the pandemic, when borders are closed and travelling is way harder than it was even two years ago.

While Renegades showed that they can still be a global player, making it to the IEM Cologne 2021 main event, their dominant form in the local scene and a lack of opportunities for other squads from the region made organisations such as Chiefs Esports Club, Dire Wolves and Paradox exit the scene.

What is the next move for ESL in Australia and if all those up and coming players left without a team behind them, going to stay in CS:GO and not switch to VALORANT, remains to be seen.
