BIG Vs FTW: Another FTW Loss?

The fourth day of ESL Pro League group B starts today. The first match will be BIG vs FTW. FTW still haven't earned their first tournament win, and BIG has only won one match. So who will be stronger in this meeting?

Of course, the level of teams is very different, and the map veto will not affect the result much. However, even at the stage of choosing maps, FTW looks weaker. Ancient and Mirage will not be played in the match. Next, the teams will select Dust2 and Vertigo as their strong maps, and Nuke will become the destroyer. Thus, the most likely map veto would be Dust2-Vertigo-Nuke. And if you look only at the win rate, these maps look suitable for FTW, but the Portuguese played with tier-2 teams when BIG regularly met with tier-1 teams. Therefore, the only map FTW can win against BIG is Vertigo.

The Shape

BIG are not in the best shape right now. The team failed at BLAST Premier Fall Groups and has already lost two matches at the ESL Pro League. However, FTW has even more problems with the game. The team is entirely unprepared for the tier-1 level. In the first three matches of the ESL Pro League, the team could not win more than ten rounds per map. Therefore, BIG should earn a second EPL win even in its current form.

Outcome

BIG has been having trouble with the game. Lately, they recently added a new map to their pool, and they are not doing well against tier-1 teams so far. However, FTW is not ready for the tier-1 scene, so even now, BIG should not have problems against the Portuguese.
