BIG Academy inch closer to the WePlay AL S2 LAN final
A monstrous comeback.
First match in the bracket.
As mouz NXT and Young Ninjas have already qualified for the WePlay Academy League Season 2 LAN final, it was the time to find out two other teams at the tournament. fnatic Rising and BIG Academy were among the teams, who could obtain a spot with a pair of wins, facing each other for a chance to get the first.
Starting on Nuke, fnatic Rising put up solid numbers on their defence, switching to the offence with an “11-4” scoreline, closing the map few rounds later, “16-4”. Ancient did not look much better for BIG Academy either, as fnatic Rising had a “14-8” lead on the highly favourable defence, but a nearly impossible eight rounds stretch saw the German team force a third map with a “16-14”. Despite a “7-3” deficit, fnatic Rising managed to win the half “8-7”, as then they hit the match point first with a “15-13” lead. BIG Academy still forced an overtime, winning multiple unfavourable rounds and then secured a “19-16” map win and a “2-1” series victory.
Now BIG Academy will face a winner of the CIS derby between NAVI Junior and VP Prodigy for a spot in Kyiv, while fnatic Rising are going to play against the loser to simply stay in the running in the event.
