Complexity And IHC Will Partisipate in ESL Challenger Melbourne

Four participants of the Australian tournament are determined.

ESL has invited the first four teams to ESL Challenger Melbourne 2023.

Tournament operator ESL issued invitations to ESL Challenger Melbourne to teams Complexity, IHC, Bad News Eagles, and Grayhound. All teams received invites through the ESL ranking. Grayhound earned its place in the regional ranking of Oceania. There are four slots left in the tournament.

Information about the tournament

ESL Challenger Melbourne is the ESL tier-2 LAN tournament, which will be held in Australia. Eight teams will participate, and the prize fund will amount to $100,000. In addition to $50,000, the winner will receive a place in the ESL Pro League Season 18 and a promotion in the ESL ranking. Therefore, the tournament is extremely important and will help the tier-2 teams to get a hold of the tier-1 stage.

How will the remaining places in the tournament be distributed?

The remaining four slots at the Melbourne event will be distributed via qualifiers. 4 to 8 teams will participate in the closed qualification for each region. Exactly one slot will be played in each qualification, so the competition will be high.

Aurora, FORZE, Sprout, and Copenhagen Flames have already been invited to the European closed qualification. The remaining four places will be distributed in open qualifiers. The participants of the Asian closed qualifiers are also known: Rare Atom and Lynn Vision, and two places are given to open qualifiers.

When will ESL Challenger Melbourne be held?

ESL Challenger Melbourne will be held from April 28 to 30.
