CS:GO at the peak of popularity: the average online reaches more than 1 million users

The Steam Charts portal published statistics indicating that the beginning of May 2023 was marked by a record number of average online players in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO).

During the entire existence of the game, there were no such numbers: on average, more than 1 million people were connected to Valve's shooter simultaneously. Moreover, at the beginning of the month, the average online in the game regularly exceeded the mark of 900 thousand players.

It should also be noted that CS:GO continues to break records for average online and peak. These indicators reached 1.5 million and 1.8 million players during the year, respectively. This is an incredible success for a developers team that is on the rise.

One of the key points that led to the growth of the game's popularity is the beginning of the closed beta testing of Counter-Strike 2, a global update of CS:GO with the transition to the Source 2 engine. The new version promises improved graphics, a tickrate system, sounds, and more. It is expected that the full release of the game will take place in the summer of 2023, which coincides with the growth of Valve's shooter online.

And also the beginning of the last major in the history of the old version of the game - BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023!

Remember that the championship lasts from May 8 to May 21. The teams are fighting for a prize fund of $1.25 million. The schedule and results of the tournament can be tracked here.
