CS:GO May Receive a Major Update Shortly

Should We Expect New Content?
Valve released the last CS:GO content update right after IEM Rio Major 2022, on November 18, when Anubis was added to the main map pool and replaced Dust2. Of course, Anubis was added to the game earlier. However, given the rarity of the game's updates, this change greatly impacted the distribution of matches in matchmaking.
The last major content update was released on September 21, 2021. Then Valve released Operation Riptide, which ended on February 21, 2022. There has been no operation in CS:GO for more than nine months. This is the third-longest period without operations in the history of the game.
This leads to the conclusion that now is the time to release another operation, so players shouldn't wait more. Also, the current cycle of operations indicates this. Of the last three operations, two took place in autumn, and one in winter, so the players are waiting for a winter event.
A new mode, a collection of skins dedicated to Anubis, an update of old collections, and new maps may appear as content of the operation in the game.

Will Tier-1 Teams Play On a Possible Patch This Year?
The last tier-1 tournament of the BLAST Premier World Final 2022 season will start on December 14, so even if the new patch is released today, it will still not be used in the tournament. However, if the update does not contain balance changes, but fixes Anubis, then most likely, the tournament operator will choose a new version of the game for the event.
