Reddit users compared developer activity on steamdb.info before the Dota 2 update to Source 2 and current activity related to CS:GO. From this, it is possible to conclude the output of the update.

Dota 2 and CS:GO files look the same

At night, another CS:GO client update was recorded on steamdb.info. This time the file cs2.exe appeared there. Of course, the community immediately began to wait for the update's release, but it never came. After that, players compared the changes before the release of Source 2 in Dota 2 and the latest activity in CS:GO.

It was almost completely identical to the activity of Dota 2. From this, it is possible to conclude the update's release date in CS. Dota 2 received similar changes 15 days before the release of the game's beta client on the new engine.

This means that the maximum term of CS:GO Source 2 before the release is 15 days. But it can be released much earlier because the new version is already undergoing final tests, while in Dota 2, at the moment of activity, not all files were ready.
