A CS:GO Update Has Been Released: Many Bugs On Anubis Have Been Fixed, Ancient Has Been Changed

Valve has finally start working on a new tournament pool map.

Another CS:GO update came out tonight, fixing the balance on Ancient and fixing bugs on Anubis.

Valve released a CS:GO update that didn't add new content but changed the tournament pool maps. List of changes:

Anubis

  • Places were fixed where the weapon fell through the ground near the canals.
  • A spot on A was fixed where grenades fall through the ground.
  • Wallbangs have been fixed.
  • Fixed collision for grenades.
  • Fixed collision for players.
  • The size of the trim in the middle has been reduced.
  • Added collision for signs.
  • Various pixel holes are closed.
  • Minor corrections were added.

Ancient

  • Bomb explosion radius increased from 500 to 650.
  • The space in the upper part of the middle has been reduced.
  • CT-spawn has been pushed back by 256 units, and timings have been pushed back by one second.
  • Reduced shelters on B, creating much more space.
  • Also, minor changes affected the maps Boyard and Chalice.

Is Ancient Now a Balanced Map?

Valve continues to work on Ancient. The map needs changes because the CT side is powerful at this location. And there are moves in this direction. First, the CT-spawn was moved, weakening the control over the mead for protection.

Now CT will run to the middle a second later than usual, preventing them from occupying and going deep. Even more, now the attack will be able to settle the beginning of the middle to throwing grenades (until the defense comes up with other grenades).

Changes to B can be called controversial. On the one hand, there is much more space at the point, which plays into the attack's hand. It will be easier to occupy the spot and protect it. However, with these changes, CT has a powerful position.

The defense sniper on B will now be very strong both when knocking out enemies and defending because the entrance to the point can now be watched safely.

How will these changes affect the pro-scene? We will find out next year, but it seems that T will become easier to play in the middle and, therefore, to control the map.

Is Anubis Now Playable?

Finally, Valve took up Anubis and fixed some bugs that interfered with the game. A significant amount of bugs have been fixed. For example, weapons and grenades will no longer be lost, and grenade throws have become more stable.

Of course, there will still be many bugs, but Valve has taken a step in the right direction, and the new map will be much more convenient and comfortable to play. All bugs from our article a month ago are fixed.

When Will We See These Changes on Tier-1?

Unfortunately, BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 will be completed on the old patch, so we will see the corrected Anubis and the improved Ancient on tier-1 only next year - at IEM Katowice 2023.
