A CS:GO Update Was Released: Molotov Cocktails on Ancient and Overpass Have Been Fixed

The developers released a small patch.

A CS:GO update was released at night, which fixed a critical bug and slightly changed the rotation of the maps.

Nightly updates include the following changes:

  • 2023 Service Medal added.
  • IEM Rio Major 2022 capsules are now on sale with a 75% discount.
  • Boyard and Chalice maps have been officially added to the "Wingman" mode.
  • Blagai, Cascade, and Breach were removed from the "Wingman" and "Competitive" modes.
  • Ember map Updated.
  • Fixed a bug due to which Molotov cocktails and incendiary grenades did not explode in the air when flying over skyboxes.

What Kind Of Bug With Incendiary Grenades?

Molotov cocktails and incendiary grenades have a significant limitation distinguishing them from smoke. They have a timer, after which they explode in the air, which prevents long-range incendiary grenades from being thrown.

However, on Ancient and Overpass, there were positions in which incendiary grenades flew above the skybox, which is why they exploded only when they hit the ground. This allowed the throwing of Molotov cocktails at a longer distance.

For example, on Ancient, such a grenade was one of the main ones for spreading the middle for T. It is impossible to throw such a grenade now, which slightly changes the gameplay on the map.

Where are the Anubis Fixes?

The most obvious content of the patch should have been the Anubis updates because there were indeed many complaints about the collision in the community. However, there is nothing in the patch notes about the new map, which is being played right now on the tier-1 scene.

Therefore, professional players will have to play on a raw map as part of the year's last tournament.

Where is the New Content?

After the developers made a backup version of the game, players would finally get a major content update, for example, an operation. At the same time, the moment was right because the last operation was completed nine months ago.

However, from the new content, we received only a new medal added every year. So, unfortunately, players will not receive a new operation this year.

When Will Operation Arrive?

If Valve upholds its new schedule for the release of operations, the new event should be waited for by February 2023. So the release dates of new operations alternate between autumn and winter. The last event was released in the fall, so you should wait for the new operation in the winter.
