ENCE advance in Stockholm, MRiders eliminate TYLOO
A pair of three mappers.
A pair of back and forth games.
With one round of matches already being completed, it was time for another set of games in the first stage of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, featuring four teams trying to get to the next round.
ENCE Esports looked in control on Dust2, as they led by three at the half, but a nearly stellar performance on the defensive side by BIG allowed the German team to lose only one round to the Finnish organization’s offence before the finish line, “16-10”. A good start to Mirage, however, was halted by a “10-1” run by ENCE towards halftime, as they equalized the score in the series with a “16-8” score. Back and forth once again, this time on Nuke, ENCE had a “9-6” lead before the switch to the offence, where they picked BIG’s defence apart for a “16-10” victory, the “2-1” series win and the spot in the “Legends” stage.

Movistar Riders opened with a “6-0” score on Inferno, but TYLOO not only brought it back, but took a “12-9” lead in the second half. The Spanish team, however, managed to recover from that, winning seven out of the remaining nine rounds in the regulation to secure their own pick, “16-14”. Mirage was all about the Chinese team though, as TYLOO made a run in the middle of the first half to secure it, “10-5” before closing the entire map, “16-7” and forcing the decider on Vertigo. There it was almost the same story as the previous Movistar Riders game on the map, as they led “10-5” after their offence, but had troubles closing it on the defensive side, as TYLOO got the game into the overtime. That was when the Spaniards finally stabilized and won the game, “19-16” to stay alive at the Swedish event with a “2-2” score.

With four matches being done, there are still two left in the fourth round of PGL Major Stockholm 2021’s first Swiss system stage.
