Four teams on top of group C: who has the edge on Day 4?

Four teams on top of group C: who has the edge on Day 4?

Do not discount the fifth team either.

Fourth day is almost here.

It’s nearly a full parity in group C after three days of play, so it is about time to prepare ourselves for the final stretch which begins tonight!

Opening the day will be mousesports and Fnatic - a classic European derby, which is very hard to predict. Of course, recent head to head is favouring mouz, as they won both matches in 2021, but that was against an old Swedish lineup and not against the current mix with “ALEX” and “mezii”, which surprised many during the first few days.

Current iteration of fnatic permabans Ancient, so we might see a pocket Vertigo coming out from mousesports in addition to Overpass and Nuke which are almost guaranteed to be picked.

Once mouz and fnatic are done, it will be time to watch Natus Vincere against Evil Geniuses - a match which would’ve been in the spotlight months ago, but right now seems like an inevitable sweep of the North American team. A lack of identity, “daps” playing at ESL Pro League Season 14 instead of "stanislaw", inability to close maps - all of that has already hurt EG, who are sitting in the last place with three losses. NAVI, on the other hand, need to rebound after a terrible loss to BIG if they want to keep their chances at finishing first up or at least, not having to worry about a top-3 finish.

As for maps, Nuke, Inferno and Mirage seem like obvious choices, as neither Vertigo or Ancient are going to come out, EG struggled to win on Dust2 and this iteration of NAVI are not known to be the fans of Overpass.

Last but not least - another European clash, this time between two Clans - FaZe and BIG. Both are sitting at “2-1” and with everybody being so close in the standings it is almost a must win scenario for both squads, if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive by the end of the day.

When teams faced off against each during the charity event Gamers Without Borders 2021 BIG won “2-1” and went to win the entire event, but that was before “gade” was brought to replace “XANTARES”, who has since moved on to Eternal Fire. However, even despite all of that, BIG trounced Natus Vincere, while FaZe Clan struggled against all three opponents they have faced so far, so it is an open match.

Usual suspects of Ancient and Vertigo are likely going to be removed, as Dust2 and Mirage will open the series, so it is a question, where teams are going to end up in a potential decider. FaZe Clan are probably not going to be eager to play Overpass one day after throwing that map to Fnatic despite a “12-3” start, while BIG have generally preferred Nuke to Inferno, so that is likely going to be a playground in case of both teams being tied after two maps.

Do not miss anything - EPL’s group C will resume in few hours!
