One step closer: EPL S14 semifinals

One step closer: EPL S14 semifinals

Four teams enter, two to advance.

After a bunch of explosive quarterfinals, it is going to be the time for the semifinals at the ESL Pro League Season 14 as only four teams are left to compete for the coveted championship.

Two squads are still going undefeated in the series, as neither Heroic or OG have dropped series on their path to the semifinals, but both look to be facing an uphill battle in the Ro4. The Danes are going to face off against the world number one in Natus Vincere, who absolutely smothered ENCE Esports in the previous round of playoffs, while the international mix will clash with Team Vitality, who seem to be powering up the longer the event goes, eliminating Complexity Gaming and Gambit Esports this week.

As far as maps go for the first semifinal, OG are unlikely to do the same trick as they’ve done against Ninjas in Pyjamas, so the Vertigo/Ancient bans are coming in. Every series OG have played during the event featured Mirage, while Team Vitality are likely going to opt into either Nuke or Overpass, with Inferno being played as the decider in the series. Meanwhile, Heroic and Natus Vincere will eliminate Dust2 and Vertigo, but the picks may vary, depending on the teams preferences. Will Heroic opt into Overpass after dropping it to Team Liquid? Will Natus Vincere pick an early Nuke, where they have a massive winning streak, giving the Danes, who are very proficient on the map themselves, the CT side start? The expectations are that MIrage, Overpass and Nuke will be played in no particular order, but only time will tell.
