ESL and Faceit merge

Two large tournament organizers have been bought and merged.

ESL and Faceit have been bought by Savvy Gaming Group situated in Saudi Arabia. According to Sports Business Journal, the deal was worth $1,5 billion. The deal hasn’t been finalized yet, and it is expected to be so by the second quarter of 2022.

After the deal is finalized, Faceit and ESL will merge into one organization and continue to organize events. However, according to the announcement, ESL Faceit are going to expand Faceit Pro League to help new players integrate with the CS pro scene. Also, ESL Faceit are going to work on the North American scene as it has suffered the most damage during the pandemic.

This merger might unfold a new era in CS:GO esports.
