ESL Pro League playoff: Quarterfinals

The first round of the playoff at ESL Pro League has come to a close, and the quarterfinals are set.

There are only eight teams left, and half of them will leave the event after the conclusion of the quarterfinals. These teams are NaVi, FURIA, Astralis, NIP, Movistar Riders, FaZe, Liquid, and ENCE.

ENCE will face Movistar Riders in the opening standoff of the stage. ENCE started the playoff from the first round, where they faced fnatic. The Finnish team made it look easy and advanced to the quarterfinal without difficulties. Movistar Riders got first place in Group C with their outstanding performance. However, Group C was the weakest group in terms of teams being seeded to it, but Movistar Riders still took down Liquid and Players. ENCE look stronger as they didn’t hesitate in the first match of the playoff.

The second clash of the day is the NIP vs Liquid standoff. Liquid unexpectedly took down Heroic yesterday and made it in 2 maps finishing the first of them 16-9. Meanwhile, NIP made it 4-1 in Group A and are ready to continue their domination. NIP are clear favorites, but Liquid has already shown they can beat favorites.

At the beginning of the second day, Astralis will face FURIA. Astralis overcame Entropiq in a close clash in the first round of the playoff. However, the Danish team don’t look capable to beat FURIA. The Brazilian squad shined in Group B, losing only one match to FaZe on the last day. However, FURIA are still favorites of the event.

FaZe are going to face NaVi in the last quarterfinal. FaZe are not in their best shape, but the team still made it to the quarterfinal. They were at risk two times but managed to get out of difficult situations. However, NaVi are much stronger than the European team. The CIS team finished the group stage 5-0, destroying Heroic and Astralis. NaVi are clear favorites in this standoff.
