G2, Vitality, Heroic qualify for PGL Major Stockholm 2021

One of the best events of the year so far.

Last day of the group stage.

A massive day at the IEM Fall Europe was going to find out the playoff participants and who was going to miss out on their chances to get to PGL Major Stockholm.

Copenhagen Flames ended up sweeping group A, as they brushed off BIG on Vertigo, “16-9”, while G2 Esports joined them in playoffs and qualified for the Major with the win over mousesports on Mirage, “16-10”. mouz ended up not even getting to the 9th-12th place bracket, as they secured a win over FunPlus Phoenix in the tiebreakers, but lost to BIG, who are going to boost their chances of making it to Stockholm later this week. Astralis went “5-0” in group B as they secured a win over Sinners Esports on Nuke, “16-8” and unexpectedly for nearly everyone, Movistar Riders joined them in top-8, as the Spanish team won over Endpoint CeX on Vertigo, “16-12” and then nearly swept the tiebreakers over Sinners and Heroic on Nuke. The Danish team will still play in the last chance bracket, while the Czech one, unfortunately, is going to miss the Major.

An absolute fumble by OG against MAD Lions, as they lost Nuke “9-16” saw them drop out to the last chance bracket, while Team Vitality and ENCE Esports advanced to the playoffs with the wins over Dignitas and Sprout respectively. Ninjas in Pyjamas cruised to a perfect “5-0” score in group D to finish first, while Fiend annihilated FaZe Clan on Mirage, “16-6” to make top-8, dropping the international team to the last chance bracket.

Six slots at the Major are still in play, so the next few days will be filled with blockbusters on the server.
