FalleN Announced His Retirement In 2023 Again

The Brazilian legend will end his career this year.

Gabriel Fallen Toledo has confirmed his intention to end his career as a professional player in 2023. He stated this on his Twitter.

GGWP 2022 was an intensive year of reunion, overcoming and learning. Thanks to everyone who was with me. 2023 is waiting for me, possibly my last year when I will focus on professional CS:GO. This year I have many plans and a transition. See you!

Will FalleN Really End His Career?

FalleN started talking about the end of his career at the beginning of 2022, when the Last Dance lineup was assembled, which was signed by the Imperial organization. And in the fall of that year, he clearly announced the end of his career in 2023. Therefore, FalleN is unlikely to use these statements as a PR move.

The Brazilian legend is no longer interested in professional Counter-Strike. The player wants to spend more time with his family, so he wants to end his career. However, what will happen to Imperial after his departure?

What Will Happen To Imperial Next Year?

Imperial's current lineup is a FalleN project, and the organization signed the roster largely thanks to the fame of the Brazilian captain. Therefore, after the departure of FalleN, the composition of Imperial will remain in limbo. The organization can abandon the remaining veterans or reassemble the team with around one player.

Also, the organization can keep the entire backbone of the roster of four players, but replacing FalleN will be incredibly difficult, so this is unlikely.

Therefore, after the departure of FalleN, we should expect significant changes in Imperial.

Legacy of FalleN

Despite the recent results, FalleN has already written his name in the history of Counter-Strike. The sniper and captain began his career in CS 1.6, but he gained worldwide fame precisely in CS:GO. FalleN assembled the most potent lineup in the history of Brazilian CS and won two Majors.

Thanks to FalleN, Counter-Strike has become the second football in Brazil. A huge number of CS clubs appeared in South America, and one of them - FURIA, still shows good results on the tier-1 scene.

IEM Rio Major 2022 is primarily the merit of the Brazilian captain because it was thanks to him that the whole world learned about Brazilian CS, and the game became popular in South America.

So, FalleN's impact on the professional CS:GO scene cannot be overstated.
