FaZe Clan finish ninth at IEM Fall Europe, close to Major

Winining one of the brackets.

The final day of the first playoff bracket.

While OG lost their hopes of qualifying for PGL Major Stockholm 2021, FaZe Clan still could make it to Sweden, as they needed to finish ninth at the IEM Fall Europe to keep their chances alive.

OG still decided to show up on the final day, however, as they faced off against Heroic, who ultimately disappointed at the event despite coming as one of the favourites to win it all. A great CT side on Nuke for the European team allowed them to jump to an “11-4” lead, more than enough to convert the map into a win during their T half, “16-11”. Inferno was even more straightforward, as the first half went back and forth in favour of OG, who then proceeded to lock down the map for the second day in a row, “16-8” and a “2-0”. FaZe Clan and BIG traded blows in the first part of Mirage, as the former switched to their defence with a narrow “8-7” lead before locking the German team’s offence out of the map, “16-9”. Overpass, one of the shakiest map in FaZe Clan’s pool was even more favourable to them, as the “12-3” score at the half allowed the international team to win the map, “16-4”, taking the series, “2-0”.

Now that FaZe Clan have done their part of the job in qualifying for the Major, they will need some help from the favourites during the IEM Fall Europe playoffs to sneak into the first stage of the event in Sweden.
