EG stay winless as fnatic move to EPL S14 Ro12

A surprising outcome for the new roster.

A chance to sneak into the playoffs

A winless Evil Geniuses squad could become a spoiler to fnatic’s hopes of making it to the ESL Pro League Season 14 playoffs, as Swedish-British mix needed a victory to almost guarantee themselves a spot in Ro12.

Back and forth in the first half of Nuke, “ALEX”’s team switched with a three round lead and despite the last ditch effort by EG to make a comeback, held on to secure a “16-11” win. Going to Inferno, fnatic once again started strong and despite Evil Geniuses reducing the deficit to three at halftime, quickly jumped to a “13-6” lead. EG, however, did not tap out, as they stole an eco round and tied the score at “14-14”, but the last few rounds went the way of the European team, as they moved to the next round with a “16-14”, “2-0”.

EG will now prepare for the BLAST Premier Fall and the IEM Fall to try and guarantee themselves a seed at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, while fnatic will start in the first round of playoffs against the second seed from one of the other three groups.
