The second open qualification for IEM Brazil has come to an end, and now the full list of participants for the closed qualification is available.
The winners of the second open competition were the 9INE and HONORIS teams. The Polish teams surpassed teams such as Eternal Fire, Copenhagen Flames, and GamerLegion. As a result, the following teams will participate in the closed qualification:
Qualification format
The closed qualification will be played in a Double-Elimination play-off format. All matches will be played in BO3 format.
2 teams will get slots for IEM Brazil in the closed qualification. The winner of the upper bracket final will receive the first slot, and the winner of the lower bracket will earn the second one.
Who is the favorite in the qualification?
There are 4 teams in the qualification who currently look significantly stronger than the second group of four. ENCE, BIG, Bad News Eagles and Sprout have much better chances of passing the qualification than the other four participants. Currently, ENCE and BIG are the strongest, but this does not mean that the others cannot compete, as there are interesting teams among them.
For example, the Monte team has been greatly strengthened after the addition of Victor sdy Orudjev. The team has shown itself well in the first matches with the former NAVI player and brilliantly passed the open qualification. It cannot be said that Monte will not be able to compete with ENCE and BIG.
Another interesting team is HONORIS, with a legend of the Polish scene - Wictor TaZ Wojtas playing in it. Finally, you can see a major champion in a more competitive scene, as HONORIS rarely reaches this far.
In addition, the performance of the HEET team is also intriguing, which is in the process of restructuring its lineup but still managed to qualify through the open stage. Will the French be able to fight in the closed stage?
