G2 sweep MIBR at BLAST Premier Fall

G2 sweep MIBR at BLAST Premier Fall

A convincing victory.

An expected outcome.

Opening the event were two teams with different aspirations for BLAST Premier Fall, as G2 Esports seeked their redemption for an underwhelming outing during the ESL Pro League Season 14 group stage, while MIBR with two stand-ins were seen as a massive underdog not only in this match but in the entire tournament.

Mirage, however, went back and forth, as the European mix led by three at the halftime. The Brazilian team still fought their way back into the game, but in the end it was too much to overcome, as G2 Esports secured the first map, “16-11”. Inferno was more clear cut, despite one more even start, as G2 made a run towards the end of the first half before closing the game out, “16-7”, for the “2-0” series win.

Tomorrow G2 Esports will face a winner of the next match between Ninjas in Pyjamas and BIG with the spot at the BLAST Fall Finals on the line, while MIBR will play the loser for a chance to avoid falling down to the BLAST Fall Showdown.
