G2, OG, And Astralis Will Perform In Closed Qualifiers At BLAST RMR

The names of 16 teams that, according to Valve's rating, will receive an invitation to the closed qualification have become known.

The following 16 teams will compete on February 16-19 in Malta in LAN format for a place on BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR A/B.

  • G2
  • OG
  • Astralis
  • Aurora
  • 9INE
  • GamerLegion
  • CPH Flames
  • Forze
  • Monte
  • SAW
  • Falcons
  • HAVU
  • Apeks
  • 1WIN
  • Illuminar
  • IKLA

The fate of the 1WIN invite needs to be clarified since on the official GitHub with Valve's rating, the team still includes flamie and NickelBack. But not Forester and an unknown fifth player. There is a possibility that 1WIN will have to play an open qualification starting on February 13.

According to the results of the open qualifications, 16 more teams will be determined, which will compete in the closed qualifiers for the European RMR A and B.

Why was G2 not directly invited to the European RMR?

The 14 best European teams from the previous Major entered the main stage of the regional RMR right away. Although G2 has won 2 tournaments since then, at the IEM Rio Major, they did not pass, taking one of the last places in RMR with a 1-3 record. A repeated failure is unlikely if G2 maintains its current form until April.
