Gambit survive against Liquid, "2-0" at EPL S14

A blockbuster for the top spot.

Gambit Esports, one of the biggest favourites to win ESL Pro League Season 14, clashed with Team Liquid, who looked very impressive during the first round, seeking their return to the highest level of play.

TL once again looked solid on their offence on Inferno, as they switched to the defence with a three rounds lead, but it did not take Gambit long to look in control at “11-10”. After that, however, North American team improved their defence and locked the CIS squad out of the map for a “16-12”. Vertigo looked to be the same, as Liquid won a couple of eco rounds, but Gambit managed to get to the halftime with only a three round deficit and then jumped to a “12-9” lead. Team Liquid still pressured and even hit the match point first, but Gambit Esports survived in the regulation and then equalized the score in the overtime, “19-16”. Mirage once again looked to be going strong for Team Liquid, as they got to a “12-6” lead shortly after the beginning of the second half, but then Gambit Esports showcased their classic water-tight defence, as they won ten rounds in a row to close the series “2-1” with a “16-12” scoreline.

Tomorrow Team Liquid will try and rebound against Entropiq, while Gambit Esports are going to close the day once again, this time, against FURIA Esports.
