Overcoming the emotions: Heroic

Going through all the highs and lows, this Heroic team is not the same which represented the organization many years ago. One of the best young cores in the game, is going to debut at the Majors despite all the controversies and while Heroic are not ranked first or even in the top-3 worldwide, this might be the last team standing on November 7th, if everything goes according to plan.

Qualifying for the Major itself was not the hardest task for Heroic, despite losing on a lot of points stocked up during their uber-successful run in 2020. Finishing in top-3 at Flashpoint 3 nearly guaranteed them a spot in Stockholm already back then and came useful after a 12th place finish at IEM Fall Europe. The Danish lineup started out strong, but lost in the tiebreakers to Movistar Riders and then did not really show up against either BIG or OG in the 9th-12th place bracket.

A team capable of showing up on nearly every map, Heroic do their best work on Nuke. The true heirs to Astralis on the dominance, the entire nuclear plant belongs to the Danes when they are on defence, while the offence can either pick up the scraps or demolish the opposition, depending on the necessary results.

The player to watch in this team is definitely “cadiaN”. The heart and soul of the squad, the fiery in-game leader is all about getting the advantages for his team, be it in the opening seconds of the round or having to clutch something absolutely unwinnable. That personality combined with his experience of being the only player on the roster, who has played at the Majors before, is going to be everything in the opening match against TYLOO, the Chinese squad, which does not how fear looks or feels.

Heroic are at 13:1 to win the entire event, which is a prop worth looking at. This team controls how the vetoes unfold against the top squads and has enough talent to get through nearly all the best of one series unscathed. Add up a little bit of magic like those “cadiaN” vs Gambit Esports or “refrezh” against Team Liquid moments, Heroic’s experience in winning championships and “Xizt” being behind their backs during PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and this is not the team anyone wants to face come playoffs time.
