Heroic put Spirit on a brink of elimination at EPL S14

Still flawless after two days of EPL play.

The reigning ESL Pro League champions Heroic faced off against Team Spirit, who lost to Astralis earlier and needed that victory to boost their playoff chances.

Starting on Overpass, it was all about the Danes until the end of the half, where CIS squad managed to cut into deficit and reduce it to only three rounds. A comeback attempt, however, came to a screeching half, as Spirit’s full buy fell apart the one flashbang B rush, letting Heroic to run away with the map, “16-9”.

Back and forth to start on Inferno, Heroic took economy control in the middle of the first half, finishing with a “10-5” lead at the half time. CIS squad tried to fire back, winning four straight after losing first three, but ultimately it was the Danish lineup, which won another map “16-9” for a “2-0” series win.

Tomorrow Team Spirit will go against ENCE Esports in a do-or-die situation, while Heroic need to prepare for the ultimate clash with Team Vitality for the quarterfinal berth.
