Heroic survive against Team Vitality, in control of first place

An absolute masterclass to finish the third day.

Both Heroic and Team Vitality went through the first two rounds without a map loss, so a winner would take control over number one spot with a direct quarterfinal berth on the line.

A monstrous defensive effort by the Danes saw them get to “13-2” half time score on Vertigo and despite the late comeback effort by the Frenchmen, map all done at “16-7”. Moving to Nuke, Heroic looked to be in control once again, as they led “9-6” before switching to their patented defence, but Team Vitality kicked into the second gear afterwards. Round after round, “ZywOo” and friends inched closer to the victory, which was theirs after “16-12” final score.

Back and forth on Inferno, teams ended up with a narrow lead for Heroic before the switch. A massive 1v3 clutch by “ZywOo” allowed Team Vitality to jump to a “13-9” lead, but similarly to the last year’s finals in Cologne, Heroic stormed back with seven consecutive rounds, taking the blockbuster match “2-1” and seizing control over the first place.

Tomorrow Danes can clinch number one with a win over ENCE Esports in case if Team Vitality fall to their old rivals, Astralis, but both teams have to be preparing for the playoffs at this moment.
