HexT Apologized for the Discriminatory Remarks

EG player apologized for his old tweets.

Evil Geniuses's rifler Jadan HexT Postma apologized for his comments after being accused of discrimination by Dexerto's player Luis Myra. The player published an apology on his Twitter.

The insensitive words I used in my tweets make me wince. I am ashamed of how I tried to express myself as a teenager, and I am sorry for the hurt I caused due to my actions. I can't thank enough my friends, family, and mentors that have given me the trust and space to improve myself since then. I feel like I have grown up, but my actions will and should lead the way to build that trust back up. I am sorry.

What kind of scandal did HexT get into?

On February 6, the Dexerto portal published an investigation under the authorship of Luis Myra. The journalist found several tweets from the Canadian player in which he used discriminatory statements and insulted the vice president of ESL FACEIT Group, Ulrich Schulze. We remind you that Evil Geniuses is a partner of ESL. We wrote more about HexT's statements here.

However, this does not mean that HexT deserves some harsh punishment. Of course, the player should be reprimanded, but he does not deserve to be kicked out of the organization. All the statements presented by Louis Miro were written when the Canadian was still a child. Some tweets were made at the age of 13. HexT may correct himself because there have been no similar offenses on his part for more than three years.

How did the story unfold?

However, HexT's apologies are not the only continuation of the story. After the publication of the investigation, the victim of identical accusations became the same author. In addition, one Twitter user found a 2017 post by Louis Myra in which he uses the exact wording as HexT. After that, the journalist hid his investigation and apologized.

Today I showed a lapse of judgment, and I take the blame for that. I'd like to apologize to @HexTCSGO and EG for this. I have taken down the article and will stay off social media for a while.

Although the article has been removed, according to Luis Mira, it can still be read via a direct link or through Google output.

When will Evil Geniuses play?

The next major tournament for the American team will be the ESL Pro League Season 17, which will begin on February 22.
