"Russia's victory is inevitable. I don't want to help Ukraine in any way" - HooXi found himself once again in the epicenter of the scandal

G2 captain Rasmus HooXi Nielsen happened to be a part of yet another scandal involving the Ukrainian esports community. There are several screenshots on the web where a pro player supposedly claimed his support of Russia and the "inevitable" defeat of Ukrainian forces.

In a leaked response to the organizer's offer to participate in a tournament with fundraising for Ukrainian military assistance, the G2 captain allegedly first asked for $500. After clarification, he added that he was confident in Russia's victory and that he had no intention of helping Ukraine in any way.

V1rum himself in a commentary for Cover.gg said that the fact that HooXi deleted the chat, and that the contact base is provided to him by reliable people, indicates that he was talking to the esportsman, and not an impostor.

This is not our first charity event, we regularly collaborate with stars of esports, sports, and other industries. The same goes for Zinchenko, headtr1ck, Edward, Smuya, and others. The player contact database is formed from trusted sources, and I have no doubt that the person I was talking to was Hooxi. The fact that the chat was deleted only confirms this.
It is sad that there are still public figures today who openly support terrorism and the killing of civilians in Ukraine. Shame!
v1rum's comment about what happened

V1rum organized charity show matches featuring esports players such as headtr1ck, fear, Edward, inkmate, as well as football and showbiz stars like Konoplyanka, Zinchenko, Kyivstoner, and others.

We have also reached out to G2 for commentary and are awaiting a response.

It’s the third time G2 and HooXi are involved in a scandal

Today's incident is not the first for the European club to cause a wave of criticism from the esports community. Previously, the G2 team took a photo with fans holding a russian flag, after which the club manager said that the players simply did not pay attention to the flag of the country they were posing with.At IEM Katowice 2023, the roster got involved in another flag-related incident, but this time was with the Ukrainian flag. The team members refused to take a photo with the Ukrainian flag, which was brought by Ukrainian caster Denis D3str0 Zabarnyi. They stated that they do not take photos with flags anymore in principle. However, according to D3stro, jks was not against taking a photo with the Ukrainian symbolics.

In light of the latest scandal, it would be more appropriate for the club to release an official statement rather than just a series of tweets and responses from managers. The organization's leadership is unlikely to want their creation to be associated with supporters of a terrorist-country.
