fnatic winless, CPH Flames still without a loss at IEM Fall Europe

The deepest region at its best.

Third day is complete.

IEM Fall Europe reached the third day of its group stage, as stakes were getting higher with each round of play.

BIG found their first victory in the tournament despite a shaky start on Overpass against FunPlus Phoenix, “16-7”, while mousesports won their second game, this time against AURA on Mirage, “16-10”. Copenhagen Flames, however, turned out to be the first team in group A to reach a “3-0” mark, as they outlasted G2 Esports in the overtime on Nuke, 19-16”. Sinners Esports improved to the same score in group B with a “16-9” win over Endpoint CeX on Ancient, as did Astralis, who prevailed in the Danish derby on Nuke over Heroic, “16-14”. Closing the day in group B were Movistar Riders and Complexity Gaming, as the Spanish team found an extra gear by the end of Nuke to snatch an unexpected win in the last round of regulation, “16-14”. Group C turned out to be pretty straightforward, as Team Vitality, ENCE Esports and Dignitas won their games against OG, MAD Lions and Sprout, respectively, while group D showcased a little bit more. Ninjas in Pyjamas barely edged past SKADE on Overpass, “16-14”, despite trailing “4-12”, fnatic fell to “0-3” after dropping Inferno to Fiend, “12-16”, while FaZe Clan outmuscled DBL PONEY by the end of Inferno, “16-13”.

Only eight teams will reach the playoffs and only twelve will get RMR points, so the last two rounds are going to be even more competitive than the previous three.
