Yesterday, the last closed qualification for the Asian RMR ended, and all the tournament participants became known.
Two Mongolian teams, two Chinese teams, two teams from Oceania, and two mixes from the Middle East with players from Europe will participate in the event. Full list of participants:
What to expect from the Asian RMR?
Asia is far from the strongest region. However, despite this, two teams from the Asian RMR will enter the Challengers Stage of the Major, so this event is also important to watch. But what to expect?
IHC's regional leadership is indisputable, so the Mongols have an almost guaranteed slot at the Major. The team could have performed better at ESL Pro League Season 17. However, the difference in the level of the European tier-1 tournament and the Asian RMR is obvious. Therefore, IHC could impose a struggle on European teams and will be able to beat rivals from the region.
The fate of the second slot is more interesting. The favorite for the second slot is Grayhound, but the Australian team is weaker than IHC and can give away a place in the Major. The main competitors are Rare Atom, TYLOO, and an interesting mix of Twisted Minds with Lobanjica. We should expect a lot of competition for second place in the Major.
