Magixx On Preparations for IEM Rio Major: "There is Still Work to Be Done"
Spirit player gave a short interview about preparation for IEM Rio Major.
Spirit is participating in the FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals tournament. The team has already reached the semi-finals. HLTV.org interviewed Spirit player Boris magixx Vorobyov, who spoke about preparations for the IEM Rio Major and the tournament situation.
First, magixx talked about the Spirit challenge at FiReLEAGUE 2022.
Experience is not the main thing we want to get in this tournament. This tournament is a great place to warm up for the Major. If we play well here, we'd better roll into the Major and not be in an uncomfortable position against the teams starting the tournament from the Challengers Stage. The teams that start the Major from the Challengers Stage will play three to five matches, and the Legends will not be warmed up and ready.
The player also spoke about the advantages and disadvantages of getting into the Legend stage directly.
It's good that we went directly to the Legends stage because we won't have to qualify for the next RMR, which is incredibly difficult. This is a very dangerous place. So it [going straight into the Legends] is good, but I'm not sure it's much better than starting the tournament with the Challengers Stage. If you get into the Challengers Stage, there is a risk that you won't make it. Still, I think the advantage of being warm and ready, being on a different continent longer - and everyone has a long flight - and getting used to the place will be a plus for teams starting the event from the Challengers Stage.
Magixx also shared his opinion on the results of the RMR tournament.
We had a decent game on RMR, and work is still to be done. We had super close games against GamerLegion, against Bad News Eagles, and all games were pretty close. This shows that our level is not that good, we still have things to fix, and we need to revisit the demo.
Today Spirit will face 9z in the semi-finals of FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals.
