Vitality, FaZe Clan, VP survive at the Major

A bunch of high octane games,

The finish of the fourth round.

With three teams advancing to the playoffs at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, it was time to find out three squads to be eliminated from the prestigious event.

FaZe Clan and Team Liquid started their series on Inferno, as the international mix ran away with the seven round lead at halftime. The North American squad still tried to come back but fell flat as FaZe Clan opened the set with a win, “16-8”. Moving to Mirage, it looked like Team Liquid will be able to equalize the scoreline, as they had multiple match points, but FaZe Clan not only forced the overtime, but secured a win in the second set of the additional rounds with a “22-19” to take the series, “2-0” and advance to the round five.

Team Vitality looked in control on Nuke against Astralis, as the French team started with a “16-10” victory, but could not sweep the series, as the Danes won Vertigo, “16-14”. A back and forth match on Dust2 looked to be going the way of Vitality, as they led “10-5” on the defence, but Astralis nearly brought it back, as Team Vitality’s offence survived at “16-13”, eliminating the reigning Major champions with a “2-1” series victory.

MOUZ looked unstoppable on Ancient, shutting down Virtus.pro, “16-9”, but a “5v1” fumble against “Jame” on Inferno stopped all the momentum for the international team. VP not only cruised through the second map, “16-3”, but had a “10-1” lead on Vertigo before MOUZ posted twelve rounds in a row and hit match points at “15-12”. The CIS team still made it to the overtime, brushed off another match point and won “22-19”, taking the series “2-1” to stay alive at the event.
