Vitality, VP, NiP to finalize the playoffs in Stockholm

A great day to be a CS:GO fan.

A battle for the last three spots.

With four rounds being completed in the Legends stage of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, it was time for the final three matches to find out the teams, which were going to advance to the playoffs bracket for all the stickers and a chance to play in front of a live crowd.

Entropiq started strong on Mirage, as they jumped to a “7-3” lead, but Team Vitality reduced the deficit to a mere one round before halftime. The CIS team still battled it through to take a “14-10” lead, but a massive “apEX” “1v3” clutch to prevent Entropiq from hitting the match point allowed the Frenchmen to steal the map in regulation, “16-14”. Overpass, however, was a different story, as Entropiq jumped to a “11-4” lead on their defence before doing enough with their offence and equalizing the score, “16-13”. Team Vitality did not get shattered by that, as they ran over Entropiq on Dust2 with a “16-5” scoreline to win the series, “2-1” and reverse sweep their way into the playoffs despite starting “0-2”.

FaZe Clan looked to win against Virtus.pro for the second time in a span of a week, as they secured Inferno, “16-13” and had a “13-8” lead on the favourable defensive side of Ancient. The CIS team, however, managed to flip a switch, as VP came back roaring on their offence to post up a “16-14” win before starting “8-1” on Overpass. Faze Clan came back to tie the score at “11-11”, but it was all Virtus.pro after that, as they became the third CIS team in the playoffs after a “16-11” win for a “2-1” series victory.

A back and forth first half on Nuke gave Copenhagen Flames a narrow lead over Ninjas in Pyjamas and despite the Swedish organization getting “10-8” ahead, it was all about the Danes after that, as CPH Flames clinched map one, “16-10”. Copenhagen Flames looked to close the series in two, as they led “10-5” at halftime on Inferno, but NiP’s force buy win in the second round kickstarted their comeback and the “16-13” equalizer. A monstrous battle ensued on Ancient, as teams traded “9-6” halves with Copenhagen Flames staying alive despite facing multiple match points, but in the overtime NiP was the only team to win a round on their offence before closing it out on the defence, “19-17”, “2-1”.
