FURIA, Gambit, Heroic to the playoffs in Stockholm

Three teams more to the playoffs.

One step closer to the championship.

With the round four starting at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, three more teams would advance to the playoffs bracket to join Natus Vincere and G2 Esports there.

A stellar defensive half by FURIA Esports allowed the Brazilian team to run away with the “11-4” score on Vertigo against Entropiq, converting into a “16-6” win with the help of their offence few minutes later. Nuke, however, not only went back and forth in the first half, but allowed the CIS team to steamroll their opponents after the break for a “16-8” equalizer. Multiple wins in the unfavourable situations on Ancient gave FURIA Esports control in the game, as they switched to their offence with a three round lead and despite the late rally by the Entropiq’s defence, the Brazilian squad won the game, “16-12” and advanced to playoffs with a “2-1” set win.

Ninjas in Pyjamas looked to snatch the Dust2 pick from Gambit Esports, as the Scandinavian team led “11-4” at the break, but the CIS juggernaut pushed through in the second half of the map, not only equalizing the score but winning the map, “16-13”. Inferno, surprisingly, did not go the NiP’s way either, as Gambit controlled the economy since the very beginning, went on a “8-1” run in the first half and advanced to the playoffs with a “16-6” finish to a “2-0” series.

Heroic did not have any issue taking Copenhagen Flames down on Nuke, “16-4”, but a back and forth game on Ancient resulted in the Danish teams going to Overpass, as CPH Flames won, “16-13”. Still, Heroic crushed Copenhagen Flames’s economy in the beginning of the third map and got themselves a narrow lead at the half before closing it out, “16-11” to advance to the playoffs with a “2-1” series victory.

With five teams already in the playoffs, the round four is still not over with the other three series being left to play.
