PGL Major Stockholm 2021 will be casted in 25 languages

A very important initiative.

More information about the event.

The first Major in two years, PGL Major Stockholm 2021, is going to start in few days and despite some of the miscues around the tournament organizing, mainly with the prize pools, stickers and competition itself, the broadcasting rights and streaming guidelines were never questioned.

Tonight PGL has announced a list of 25 languages, which are going to be streaming the Major for their native speakers. Interestingly enough, there is no Swedish language broadcast despite the event being hosted in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. Joining English among the most popular languages are expected to be Russian, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese with a variety of other languages available. Hungarian, Danish, Polish, Czech and Slovak, Romanian, Bulgarian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Serbian, Norwegian, Finnish, Malay, Icelandic, Ukranian, Vietnamese and Filipino - all of those are going to be joining the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 broadcasting team.

It remains to be seen if the Swedish casters will be joining the scene during the playoffs inside the arena, but despite all the hassle with PGL and hiring talent for the event, the language initiative covers a lot of bases and allows many people to watch the prestigious tournament with a sound on.
