MIBR eliminate Imperial, to play Sharks for the Major slot

The biggest game is coming tomorrow.

One step closer to the Major.

MIBR and Imperial Esports clashed in the first round of the lower bracket at IEM Fall South America, as only one team could move further in the tournament.

MIBR started strong on Nuke and despite Imperial Esports’s push in the middle of the half, it was still a five round lead for the favourites. Imperial looked to reduce the deficit, as they won the second round despite losing the pistol, but MIBR instantly reset them again and closed the first map, “16-6”. Solid start by MIBR on their own pick of Mirage allowed them to jump to a “7-1” lead, but an impressive stretch by Imperial Esports gave them a narrow lead at halftime, “8-7”. Second half, however, was all about MIBR’s defence, as they shut Imperial Esports’s offence out for a “16-8” victory and a “2-0” series win.

In the next round MIBR will face off against Sharks Esports, which is going to be the biggest match of the entire event, as the winner will qualify for PGL Major Stockholm 2021 even without winning IEM Fall South America.
