Two Brazilian teams to "0-1", ENCE and VP win in Stockholm
First high seed to get a win in Stockholm.
The opening day of the competition.
A young and talented GODSENT lineup started strong on Nuke against ENCE Esports - an expected choice considering both teams success rate on the map in recent times. The Finnish organization, however, stabilized and moved to a three round lead at halftime before the Brazilian mix tied it up again. After a bunch of close rounds went the way of ENCE, it was a matter of time when they closed it, as the European squad opened the tournament with a win, “16-10”.
paiN Gaming and Virtus.pro traded rounds back and forth in the beginning of Inferno, not the most surprising choice considering the lack of desire to play either Ancient or Dust2 in a best of one format. VP looked to run away with the map in the second half, as they led “11-7”, but the Brazilian team pushed the pace and looked to hit the match point first after an insane “hardzao” “1v4” clutch. Virtus.pro, however, stole the following round with nothing but pistols, shattering the paiN Gaming’s economy and winning the map in regulation, “16-14”.
With a yet another high seed falling down to “0-1”, ENCE might end up facing the likes of FaZe Clan later tonight, while VP will find out their second round opponent later tonight.
