Spirit, BIG open Day 2 with the wins

The opening round of the second day.

With the first stage developing further and further at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, it was the third round in the middle bracket, which started the second day of the event.

TYLOO, who looked solid yesterday, opted to keep Ancient away from the server for now, as the Chinese team went to face Team Spirit on Overpass. Tied at “2-2”, the CIS team managed to win a multitude of close rounds, taking a commanding “12-3” lead into the break. Another badge of back and forth rounds came in there, as Team Spirit won the entire map, “16-3” - much more convincing of a score than the game itself has suggested.

BIG and Renegades were expected to play on Nuke, considering that it was the map both teams were featured on twice yesterday, but the German team decided to remove it in the draft, choosing Inferno as the location. Similarly to the TYLOO-Team Spirit match, BIG won multiple unfavourable situations, jumping to a “12-0” start out of the gate and a “13-2” half. The Australian mix still tried to mount a comeback, but BIG retook the site in the last round to win the game, “16-9” and improve to “2-1” at the Major.

With only one set of best of one games being left, the best of three sets can not come soon enough, considering the high level of the teams present at the event in Stockholm.
