Liquid survive against FURIA, push NiP to the EPL S14 playoffs

Team Liquid have already guaranteed themselves a playoff spot at ESL Pro League Season 14, but FURIA Esports still had to win that game to finish in top-2 and not be out of contention, even with their head coach “guerri” standing in.

Inferno, however, kept being a great pick for the North American squad, as TL ran over FURIA’s defence for a “11-4” lead before closing things out on the defence, “16-4”. Nuke turned out to be a different story, as Liquid still led at the half, albeit, very narrowly, but the Brazilian team got revitalized in the second half, running away with the game, “16-10”. Going to Mirage, it was all about FURIA early, as they led “8-3”, but Team Liquid managed to tie the score at “11-11”. Brazilians still got four match points but were unable to use any of them, as Team Liquid not only forced an overtime, but won the entire map, “19-17”, closing out the series, “2-1”.

This result gives Team Liquid a second place in the group and Ninjas in Pyjamas will finish third, while FURIA Esports will go and prepare for the IEM Fall, as they still have a great chance of qualifying for the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and succeed in the second half of the year.
