Vitality sweep Astralis, to BLAST Fall Finals

Vitality sweep Astralis, to BLAST Fall Finals

Solid performance by the both squads.

First game of the second day.

The fast-rising Team Vitality, not showing any signs of a hangover against Team Liquid during the BLAST Premier Fall opener, faced off against Astralis, who dismantled Evil Geniuses to start their campaign.

Back and forth to start on Overpass, the Frenchmen found a couple of the low economy round wins, and switched to the defence with a three round lead. Down against multiple match points, Astralis attempted a furious rally on their own offence but were stopped short, as Team Vitality secured the first map, “16-12”. Nuke, however, looked grim and not promising at all, as the Danes ran over the French team defence, posting a monster “11-4” half and even secured the nearly flawless pistol round to start the second half. That was when Vitality’s offence broke through, not taking any hostages, as despite being down “7-14”, they never tapped out and posted nine straight to close the game in regulation, “16-14” and the entire series, “2-0”.

That result puts Team Vitality into the BLAST Premier Fall Finals as they are going to face off either Astralis or the winner of the Team Liquid-Evil Geniuses derby later for the first spot in the group A.
