Vitality and Heroic advanced to the semi-finals of IEM Rio 2023
The first day of the IEM Rio 2023 playoffs has come to an end, with the semi-final pairings now known and BIG and FURIA eliminated from the tournament.
Fueled by their home crowd, FURIA were able to win their signature Inferno map against Heroic with a score of 16:12, but the Danes answered back with a victory on Mirage. In the deciding map of Ancient, the win went to Heroic, despite the initial advantage after the first half.
Despite the defeat, KSCERATO showed the best rating and the best number of kills. Thanks to his efforts, FURIA just managed to win on Inferno.
Vitality defeated the Berlin team 2:0 to advance to the semi-finals where they will face Cloud9. Krimbo continues to be the best player on BIG, firmly establishing himself in the main lineup since March of last year. Unfortunately for German fans, ZywOo and Spinx created too many problems for BIG in this match, and Matheu was once again the MVP of the game with a rating of 6.8.
