Team Vitality secure a win over Team Liquid at BLAST Premier Fall

Team Vitality, fresh off their heartbreaking loss in the ESL Pro League Season 14 opened their BLAST Premier Fall campaign against Team Liquid, who suffered an even worse fate against Heroic in the EPL quarterfinals few days ago.

Starting on Inferno, arguably the best TL’s map, Vitality showcased a nearly stellar defence, picking up eleven rounds before the switch and closing the map with multiple swift attacks on their offence, “16-6”. Team Liquid were not to be deterred, however, as they fired back on Vertigo, packing up a monster “12-3” halftime score before forcing a decider with a “16-8” win. The French squad started strong on Mirage, as they were “7-1” up at some point, but Team Liquid managed to reduce the gap to five before the break. Second half started in the favour of Team Vitality once again, but the North American mix stayed in the game until a half buy worked for the Frenchmen at “14-11”, closing the map one round later, “16-11” and the entire series, “2-1”.

Tomorrow Team Vitality will face Astralis for the spot at the Fall Finals, while Team Liquid are going to try and avoid elimination to the Fall Showdown in the domestic derby against Evil Geniuses.
