XTQZZZ will not attend IEM Katowice playoff

IEM Katowice 2022 playoff starts today, and one more team reported that their member would miss the matches.

G2 announced that Rémy "⁠XTQZZZ⁠" Quoniam was tested positive for COVID-19. He won’t stand behind the team during playoff matches. Currently, G2 are the only team to play without the coach on the scene. It might weaken the team as they will not have the coach in the overtime.

G2 are not the first to suffer from COVID problems. Teams who had their players tested positive are MIBR, FaZe, and Natus Vincere. The only team to use a stand-in were FaZe, but Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool managed to recover in time and take part in the group stage. However, the European mix might have to play with a stand-in again as there is still no information on Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard’s PCR test. Rain was tested positive at the end of the group stage, and the time passed might not be enough to recover.
