The battle between cadiaN and dev1ce for the title of the best captain at the tournament — a preview of CCT Global Finals 2024

On May 16, the CCT Global Finals 2024 tournament for CS2 will begin. 16 teams, including Astralis, ENCE, Fnatic, Team Liquid, and Eternal Fire, will compete for a prize pool of $500 thousand. Win four bo3 and one bo5 — and $250 thousand will be in your pocket.

The championship promises to be very dynamic because there won't be any last-chance brackets. Lose, and you're out. You might call the outcome of such an event predictable, but with dev1ce switching roles from the main sniper to captain of Astralis, Liquid's ambiguous results, blameF joining Fnatic, and Eternal Fire's breakthrough at the Major, we wouldn't be so confident in the match outcomes. About the tournament, contenders for victory, and expectations from teams — in the material by Bo3.gg.

Astralis

Astralis played their last official match not long ago - on May 11. dev1ce is gradually adapting to his new responsibilities in the team and is handling them very well, as the results have been improving. 3-4th places at IEM Chengdu 2024 and ESL Pro League Season 19 are not trophies like in the old days, but it's already better than before.

The team continues to train hard and play as many official matches as possible. We hope that the roster has managed to work on the mistakes that surfaced in previous events, and we will see the best version of Astralis. We expect the team in the final of the championship - probably, that's the goal the players have set for themselves.

Team Liquid

When the current Liquid roster was assembled, trophies were predicted for them from the first tournaments, but it didn't turn out that way. The team is struggling a lot: they didn't qualify for the Major and also failed in many other qualifications. In the last two events, Liquid made it to the playoffs, but more is clearly expected from them. First, cadiaN must fully build the team's structure because, against the best teams in the world, they look toothless. Only after that can we begin to talk about the fight for trophies.

Fnatic

There's a lot of responsibility on blameF's shoulders — with this transfer, the team's game should transform, becoming more aggressive and risky, which is very important in CS2. CCT Global Finals 2024 will be the first tournament for the renewed lineup, and how their gameplay will look is a real mystery.

The team is still in the process of restructuring. Surely blameF has brought his ideas to the team, and KRIMZ needs to adapt to the support role. We hope that the Dane will find his place in Fnatic's structure, and the team will change its style under the new rifler. It seems that the team should at least make it to the tournament's playoffs.

ENCE

After failing at the Major, followed by disappointments at Skyesports Masters 2024 and ESL Pro League Season 19, various rumours about the future lineup of the team started circulating. Some say that dycha will leave the roster, while others mention hades. ENCE's current LAN results suggest that the young players simply can't handle the pressure when facing renowned opponents. Despite this, it's precisely at the CCT Global Finals 2024 that the team under the guidance of gla1ve can shine. If ENCE manages to make it to the playoffs, it will be difficult to stop them there.

Eternal Fire

Eternal Fire confidently passed the first two stages of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and made it to the playoffs. They could have gone further than the quarterfinals if they hadn't faced the future champions of the Major, Natus Vincere. However, at EPL S19, the Turkish team wasn't as creative as they were at the Major in Copenhagen and failed to make it to the playoffs. We don't expect Eternal Fire to win at the upcoming event, but it's entirely possible if the team approaches the tournament properly.

CCT Global Finals 2024 will take place from May 16 to May 23 online. 16 teams will compete for a prize pool of $500 thousand. You can follow the progress of the championship via the link.
