5 teams that ruined the most Pick'em at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024

Opening Stage at the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major has come to an end, which means it's time to sum up the results of this stage. Today, we'll look at the list of teams that ruined the Pick'Em Challenge the most for the hardworking folks.

#5 - ENCE

And kicking off our list is the Finnish organization, ENCE. This team accounted for 11% of all Pick'Em entries for advancing to the next stage on our site, while only 1% predicted their elimination. However, despite having a star-studded lineup with Lucas "gla1ve" Rossander, they couldn't demonstrate the required skill and were eliminated with a score of 1:3.

From the very first match, it was evident that the team had some issues. They lost their first match to Brazil's Imperial Esports on the Anubis map. In the next match against KOI on Nuke, ENCE showed excellent gameplay and easily secured a victory.

However, after that, the team lost all confidence and dropped their last two matches against Pain Gaming and Furia Esports.

All that remains to be said is that the team certainly has potential, but most likely, the lineup won't be the same after the Major.

#4 — SAW

The Portuguese team SAW disappointed the entire Counter-Strike gaming community in the Opening Stage. Despite making it through with a score of 3:2 at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A, many started expecting them to advance to the Elimination Stage, but that wasn't the case.

Let's talk numbers first. SAW was backed by 11% of users to advance to the next stage, while only 1% believed they'd exit the Opening Stage, which indeed happened.

SAW began the Opening Stage with two wins against KOI and GamerLegion, but then everything went downhill. They lost three consecutive matches to Cloud9, Pain Gaming, and Furia Esports, all with a score of 0:2 in BO3 format.

#3 - paiN Gaming

The sensation of this Major was the Brazilian teams. Among them were the guys from paiN Gaming. Without further ado, Pain Gaming entered the Elimination Stage with a score of 3:1. The team lost only one match to Eternal Fire and managed to defeat Apeks, ENCE, and SAW.

Of all the Pick'Em entries on our site, only 2% believed that Pain Gaming would progress further, while 6% thought otherwise. However, the efforts of the Brazilian team were fruitful as they secured another slot for their region in the upcoming Majors.

And of course, the magic of the Major is at play because it's where newcomers can shine the brightest. Congratulations to Pain Gaming, and let's move on.

#2 - The MongolZ

Claiming the bronze medal in our ranking are the underdogs once again. This time it's The MongolZ, who pulled off something unbelievable.

Just imagine, The MongolZ, with an average player age of 19.5 years, lost their first two matches to Eternal Fire and ECSTATIC, coming dangerously close to elimination. But they managed the impossible, winning three consecutive matches against Amkal, Lynn Vision, and Legacy.

Thus, the players whom you wouldn't bet on in the U.S. to buy you a beer advanced to the Elimination Stage with a score of 3:2. But why did they ruin the Pick'Em entries?

It's simple. Most players and well-known figures bet against them, either predicting a 0:3 score or their failure to advance. But these guys are making history for their region!

#1 - Lynn Vision

Taking the top spot is the Chinese organization Lynn Vision. Honestly, nobody believed in these guys. Only 74 readers of our site, which accounts for a mere 0.1% of all Pick'Em entries, predicted that the Chinese would advance to the next stage.

But when it came to elimination, 39% of users bet against them, with the majority predicting Lynn Vision to end with a score of 0:3. But alas!

Lynn Vision exited the Opening Stage with a score of 1:3, not 0:3. They managed to win one match against Furia on the Nuke map with a score of 13:9.

However, despite all this, the tournament, which will go down in history as the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major, continues and only gains momentum.
