Champion of Champions Tour Season 2 Unveiled: $1.5 Million Prize Pool and Streamlined Format

GRID, together with Eden Esports and LetsPlayLive, announced the 2nd season of the Champion of Champions Tour in 2025, which will culminate in the Grand Global Finals on 15 April. With a total prize pool of US$1.5 million, this season promises to be an exciting sporting spectacle across Europe, North America, South America and Oceania.

The new season will consist of "36 regional online events" that will be strategically distributed across the aforementioned regions. Eden Esports will host tournaments and broadcasts in Europe and the United States, while LetsPlayLive will be responsible for Oceania.

Unlike its predecessor, which divided European participants into several divisions, in 2024-2025, these divisions will be combined into one strong region; this strategic move by GRID aims to offer European teams a more organised and highly competitive path to the global finals. Similarly, the North American and South American stages will be integrated into the main and playoff stages, enhancing the overall tournament experience.

Europe will host 20 regional online competitions, followed by South America with eight events, and North America and Oceania with four. This careful distribution underscores GRID's commitment to fostering inclusive and exciting esports competitions on a global scale.

The launch of the CCT in 2022 was an important milestone in the development of esports with ambitious plans for an online series culminating in a regional LAN final. However, unforeseen problems led to the merger of regional divisions and the cancellation of some LAN events. Despite these obstacles, expectations for the second season of the CCT remain high, and sports fans are looking forward to the exciting matches and intense competition ahead.

The countdown to the CCT GlobalFinal2024 has begun and will run online from 16 to 24 May.
