CS2 Unveils Major Update: Enhanced Maps, New hand shaking mode, and Animation Fixes

In a significant overnight release, CS2 has rolled out a comprehensive update that has brought a wave of excitement to the gaming community. The update introduces enhancements to popular maps including Vertigo, Nuke, Anubis, and Overpass, alongside the addition of a novel 'handshake mode' aimed at enriching player experience. For those preferring the traditional setup, the handshake mode can be easily disabled using the console command cl_usenewbob false.

The developers have also addressed several animation-related issues that players have been vocal about. Improvements include the rectification of animations during stair climbs, corrections to agent animations in the menu holding Zeus x27, and adjustments to the Kukri knife holding animation during team intros. These refinements promise a more immersive and visually consistent gameplay experience.

For observers, the update enhances the spectating experience with the introduction of console commands spec_lock_to_accountid and spec_lock_to_current_player, alongside improvements that allow spec_player and spec_goto commands to function during CSTV and demo playbacks. Furthermore, the server command tv_secure_bypass now enables HLAE observers to connect to VAC-secured CSTV servers, marking a significant technical advancement.

Deathmatch mode sees two notable changes: the Zeus x27 can now be purchased in each life, with an automatic repurchase if it's not in random weapon mode, and securing a second kill with the Zeus x27 in the same life now awards double points. Additionally, the server command mp_modify_timeouts introduces the ability to adjust tactical timeouts, enhancing strategic gameplay.

The update also focuses on improving the overall smoothness of first-person animations, especially under conditions of low or unstable frame rates, and fixes issues related to keybinding implementations based on scan codes. A new HUD element for performance diagnostics has been added, accessible through the "Telemetry" menu in game settings, replacing the outdated cq_netgraph and cq_netgraph_problem_show_auto commands.

Rounding off the update are fixes for a bug that sometimes prevented connection to local servers for training without a Steam connection, a bug affecting the animation of rank displays at the end of competitive matches, and a performance issue with sniper scopes, alongside a visual adjustment for better clarity.
