ESL Challenger 2024 tournament locations announced
ESL has announced the organization of four ESL Challenger series tournaments in 2024. The first one, ESL Challenger #56, is scheduled for April 26-28, with its location yet to be disclosed. Preliminary forecasts suggest that the April tournament may take place in Melbourne. The following tournaments will be held in Jönköping (June 14-16), Atlanta (October 4-6), and Katowice (November 22-24).
Each of these tournaments will feature eight teams and offer a prize pool of $100,000. A unique aspect of these competitions is that the winners of each tournament will receive slots in the ESL Pro League, with two slots for the first two tournaments in ESL Pro League Season 20 and the following two for ESL Pro League Season 21.
The ESL Challenger events are key for tier-2 teams, as they often do not have the opportunity to compete with top teams, opening additional chances for less-known groups. Thanks to four regional qualifiers with open selections, participation in these tournaments becomes accessible to a wide range of players.
The locations of the tournaments were chosen considering the interested audience, making each an important event in the respective region. The next ESL Challenger will start soon on December 15, 2023, in Atlanta. Follow the event through this link.
