Esports World Cup Foundation selects 30 teams for club support

Esports World Cup has announced the participants of its new club support programme, which includes 30 esports organisations, 20 of which have Counter-Strike 2 rosters. These clubs include Cloud9, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, Furia, G2 Esports, Gaimin Gladiators, Gen. G, Guild, Karmine Corp, KOI, LGD Gaming, LOUD, OG, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, NRG Esports, Spacestation, T1, Talon, Team Falcons, Team Liquid, Team Secret, Team Vitality, TSM, Tundra, Twisted Minds, Virtus pro and Weibo Gaming, will receive significant investments from Arab investors to further their development.

Each of these selected teams will receive hundreds of thousands of dollars to expand their operations, which includes opening new rosters, signing international players, creating content to attract more fans, and hiring new employees.

The initiative, which was created to fund clubs, will help them grow and develop within the global esports community. According to the organisers, the programme is perceived as a strategic investment in the potential of esports, not just charity.

Important criteria for selecting clubs for the programme included the team's credibility, the organisation's goals, and its creative approach to engaging fans. More than 150 applications were submitted, which demonstrates the great interest in the programme. In the end, it was decided to increase the number of participants from 28 to 30 teams.

Participation in the support programme does not guarantee clubs automatic participation in the Esports World Cup competitions, so all participants will also compete for places in future tournaments.
